1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: Email address, display name, and profile photo when you create an account via Google, Apple, or Magic Link sign-in.
  • Location data:Approximate location (when-in-use only) to show nearby coffee shops and validate check-ins. We never request "always-on" location access.
  • Usage data: Check-ins, drink ratings, favorites, crawl participation, and app interactions to personalize your experience.
  • Device information: Device type, OS version, and app version for debugging and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Personalize your coffee shop discovery feed
  • Calculate real-time shop busyness from anonymized check-ins
  • Enable social features (crawls, meet-ups, friend tracking)
  • Send push notifications you've opted into
  • Improve the App through anonymized analytics

3. What We Don't Do

  • We never sell your personal data to third parties
  • We never share your precise location with other users
  • We never store passwords (we use OAuth and Magic Link only)
  • We never require location access when you're not using the App

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies. Authentication tokens are stored in encrypted device storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), never in unencrypted storage.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Database, authentication, and real-time features
  • PostHog: Product analytics (anonymized)
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management
  • Expo: Push notifications

6. Your Rights

You can:

  • Request a copy of your data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of push notifications at any time
  • Revoke location permissions through your device settings

7. Children's Privacy

CoffeeVibes is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email.
